Prefab Mechanical Technician

As a Tri-Star Prefab Mechanical Technician you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic work environment and produce high quality components for specialty emergency vehicles.

Main duties of the position include:

  • Assembling of cabinets, doors hardware

  • Cutting of panels, carpets and other components to be ready for final assembly

  • Quality inspection of work in process, and completing documentation

Requirements:

  • Can use all personal protective equipment (PPE) when required by the task being completed and apply all proper safety procedures required by Tri-Star.

  • Capable of using mechanical hand tools such as jigsaws, chop saws, drills, air tools, heat guns, wrenches, measuring tapes, etc.

  • Proficient in reading and understanding drawings and written directions such as specifications and instructions with minimal or no supervision.

  • Detail-oriented and proficient in reading and understanding drawings and written directions such as specifications and instructions, with minimal or no supervision.

  • Capable of lifting and handling heavy cabinets (alone sometimes as well as with a team) and able to work on their feet for long periods of time.

  • Capable of the safe handling to prevent damage to material.

  • Employees must show a willingness to learn and train for different areas of the ambulance build process as well as keep up with new innovations within the construction industry.

  • Must be able to work alone with very little direction, also having leadership experience would be an asset.

  • Grade twelve or equivalent, and a trade diploma would be an asset.

  • Experience in the automotive industry would be considered an asset, but is not a requirement.

Upon approval, we may offer additional training to help employees flourish in their position within the company. Successful candidates may be cross trained to work in other areas of production as needed.
